Andrea Berti is the owner, office manager, and substitute teacher of First Steps Preschool. Andrea began her career in child development in 1987 and has acquired 25 college units in early childhood education. She continues to keep informed of the ever-changing developments in child care by attending conferences, seminars, and college courses. She is trained in pediatric CPR and first aid, and she interacts with the children and teachers daily by providing an open-door policy.
Our director, teachers, and aides are carefully selected and trained to meet the appropriate developmental and early education needs of each child. Our teachers have a minimum of 10 years of experience in child development and are required to attend additional professional development classes. Your child is given personal and individualized attention according to his or her needs.

Andrea Berti and the team members at First Steps Preschool believe that parents are the most important adults in a child's life. In order to best serve your child's needs, we encourage open communication between parents, the owner, director, and your child's teacher.
We believe in the uniqueness of individuals. Children are assigned to their classrooms depending on their ages and levels of development. Our team provides appropriate activities that enhance their personal growth, thinking skills, and development of their natural curiosity and imagination. Children are encouraged to participate in self-directed and group play, as well as challenges that allow them to solve problems and make mistakes.
Through providing positive reinforcement, we assist children in gaining confidence, independence, and respect for themselves and others. We provide them with skills in sharing, taking turns, socialization, and ways in which to adjust to life situations without anger and violence.
